A JOYFUL, HISTORIC MOMENT IN OUR BEEKEEPING STORY

A JOYFUL, HISTORIC MOMENT IN OUR BEEKEEPING STORY

Celebrating 100 years of Disneys Winnie The Pooh

As the world celebrates the 100 year anniversary of Winnie the Pooh, we can now officially join in the celebrations. For what has been a well-kept secret project, is finally out in the open.

We were truly honoured to be appointed official beekeepers to this magical project, and to produce the first ever jars of authentic '100 Aker Wood Hunny’, made by our bees in Ashdown Forest - the real-life inspiration for Pooh’s woodland home.

This has been a truly unique honey harvest to produce across the seasons, from a special and highly immersed location in the heart of the forest.

Look closely at the jar and you will find Steve's name endorsing every sweet, golden pot.

Ashdown Forest was the real-life inspiration for the Hundred Acre Wood from A.A Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh books. Located in East Sussex, England, it is one of the largest areas of rare lowland heathland in the Southeast and is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its unique habitats and biodiversity. Once a medieval hunting forest, today it is celebrated for its wide, open heathland, ancient woodland, and rich wildlife, supporting species that are increasingly scarce across the UK.

Fortnum & Mason Disney Winnie The Pooh 100th Anniversary Collection

Produced as part of a special celebration marking 100 years of Disney Winnie the Pooh, each honey jar captures the changing character of the forest through the seasons; Spring and Summer Honey, plus a delicious Creamed Honey in a keepsake ceramic honey pot.

Supporting this, you can visit the incredible Fortnum’s Piccadilly store with special themed window displays and an array of golden, sculptural beehives across the iconic building.

You can also visit an immersive Fortnum & Mason Eau de Nil beehive installation, situated on the main concourse of St.Pancras International, at almost 9 metres tall, it's a magical creation. Inspired by Fortnums own rooftop hives, it sits proudly below the buzzing rooftop beehives above, managed by us on behalf of Fortnum & Mason for their Rooftop Honey collection.

A century since his first adventures in 100 Aker Wood, we are truly thrilled to present this set of beautiful ‘100 Aker Wood Hunny’ in celebration of all things Winnie the Pooh.
